Dua Lipa is an English artist and singer. She was born on August 22 1995, in London United Kingdom. After a stint as a fashion model, she decided to join Warner Bros Records and release her debut album entitled "Dua Lipa" in 2017. It climbed to the third place on the U.K. Chart for Albums. The album released eight singles and included Be The Only I.D.G.A.F. as well as New Rules (UK number one). It also rose to number 6 in the United States. Lipa was honored with the Brit Award in 2018 as a British Female Soloist as well as British Breakthrough Artist. The album has been certified platinum in many countries. Dua Lipa, born to Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa A Rexha Lipa and Dukagjin Dukagjin in London, was born on the 22nd of August, 1995. By virtue of her maternal grandmother, she has Bosnian descent. Her ancestors are also tracked back to the Kosovo city of Peja. Her grandparents were both historians and professors. Lipa is the younger sister of Rina Lipa, and has a younger brother named Gjin. Lipa was influenced musically by her father who is the principal guitarist and singer for Oda. Kosovan band Oda. Lipa began singing when she was 5 years old. At the age of nineteen she was singing in Sylvia Young Theater School. New Love was her debut single. New Love was released in August of 2015.
