Her debut track Here was released in the year 2015. It received praise by music critics as well as listeners. It reached number 19 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone called the track one of the Top Songs in 2015. In that same year she dropped her debut album Know It All with the third track Scars to Your Beautiful being the first of five tracks which peaked on the Billboard charts. This includes The Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. According to an interview Cara did with Rap Up, the track had lots of meaning for many of the listeners who related to her story about learning to accept and love yourself. Cara incorporates messages about love and kindness in her songs. She has been struggling with anxiety and insomnia that have influenced her journey. When she spoke to Reuters the singer said that her album was "half turbulent" and "half perfect". She says she grew through therapy and she encourages others to seek help when necessary. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto, Canada. She was born on July 11, 1996 to parents with Italian heritage. Her parents purchased her a brand new guitar which she utilized to develop her passion for music. At 13 she began performing her favourite songs on YouTube a major media platform to prove to the world she was talented and determination to develop into an artist. Sweater Weather was her most well-known album. The record label EP Entertainment EP Entertainment, noticed her and allowed her to write songs.
