She's covered sports for one of the largest media outlets across the globe. Her tenure working at The Washington Post was spent reporting on several Olympics, Grand Slam Tennis along with basketball, football and other sports. Nichols spent nine years at ESPN which was where she earned 2 Emmy Awards. In her role as a reporter in the stands, she was also a participant on Monday Night Football. Next, she moved on into CNN Sports and Turner. Unguarded was a program that she produced and hosted, was telecast each one week at CNN International. Over a billion viewers watched the program across the world. Nichols was also a reporter for TNT in NBA broadcasts during playoffs and All-Star broadcasts. Her work for TBS included baseball and golf coverage as well as Final Four broadcasts by CBS. The only woman to have been picked from over two hundred nominations in the 42-year old history of the award.
