
Jacob Christopher Ortiz (born January 23, 1975) was an American mixed martial artist. He is also a politician. He is currently contracted to the Combate Americas promotion. Ortiz is famous for his time at the Ultimate Fighting Championship, where it was his last Light Heavyweight champion. He held that title from April 14 2001 until September 26, 2002. He was one of the early stars of the sport together with Randy Couture and Chuck Liddell. Ortiz ultimately became the biggest pay-per-view draw of 2006 for his fights with Liddell, Forrest Griffin, and Ken Shamrock Ortiz is the chief executive officer of Punishment Athletics MMA equipment and clothing line. It is located in his home town of Huntington Beach, California.
