
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player, plays as a striker in the San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) which is the top division of women's soccer in the United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 until 2020 along with Megan Rapinoe as well as Carli Lloyd. [8][9] Morgan was selected number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she completed her degree early at the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. In the team, she made her debut in professional football and assisted the team in winning the league championship. Morgan aged 22 at the time was the youngest player of the national squad at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, which the team finished second. In the 2012 London Olympics Morgan scored the winning goal in the 123rd minute of the semi-final game against Canada. She was second in the United States with 20 goals and 21 assists for 2012, which made her the sixth-youngest and most prolific player in the United States to achieve 20 goals in a single year. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, and was also named a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan has also played a role in helping the United States win their titles in the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, in which she was selected to the Dream Team for both tournaments in addition to winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
